    TITLE:Assistant High School Boys Wrestling Coach DEPARTMENT:High School Activity Department REPORTS TO: Activities Directory RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM: Activities Director, Building Principal, and Other Coaches BASIC FUNCTION: Ensure each participating student athlete acquires the knowledge of skills and fundamentals of the sport, acquire an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, teamwork, and an increased level of self-esteem. KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION: Required:

  • Valid state certificate/endorsement to coach

  • Proficiency in the assigned coaching area

    Desired:

  • Previous experience in similar position

  • Establishes a coaching philosophy that is shared amongst all members of the coaching staff.

  • Applies coaching skills in a positive manner during practices and matches/games.

  • Is knowledgeable of the fundamental skills, techniques, and strategies of the sport.

  • Develops a well organized practice schedule which utilizes the coaching staff and team to its maximum potential.

    PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adheres to the school and district policy and procedures.

  • Demonstrates punctuality and regular attendance

  • Organizes and leads team which positively impacts the activities and athletics department.

  • Focuses on assigned tasks while on duty.

  • Maintains confidentiality and communicates athletes needs/concerns with supervisor.

  • Maintains appropriate appearance and attire for the school environment.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by athletic & activities director.

    Terms of Employment: Wage and work year to be established in accordance with provisions of the Comprehensive Agreement. Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Comprehensive Agreement. Physical Requirements: Bending, carrying, climbing, travel between job sites, lifting, pushing-pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, and walking Working Conditions: Includes extremes of temperature and humidity. Hazards include stairs and communicable diseases.
