High School Special Education Strategist I or IIThe West Liberty Community School District is seeking a High School Special Education Teacher Strategist I or Strategist II for the 2024-2025 school year. Must have Instructional Strategist I: Mild/Moderate, or Instructional Strategist II: BD/LD, or willing and able to obtain. $3,000 Annual StipendQUALIFICATIONS: 9-12 Iowa teaching license required or ability to obtainMust believe that all students can learnMust possess a collaborative natureMust understand the importance of culture in a high school and its effect on academics Must be an innovative, passionate, and energetic individualSuccessful prior teaching experience at the high school level preferred but not requiredSuccessful experience working with diverse learners including Special Education and ESL preferredJOB DESCRIPTION:Plans a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of studentsMaintains all records for students, building, district, and state requirementsCreates a climate that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of studentsEmploys methods and materials that are appropriate for meeting stated objectivesAssess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reportsAttend staff meetings and serve on committees as requiredDevelop and maintain an effective level of communication with appropriate personnelStrives to maintain and improve professional competenceWorks collaboratively with content area/grade level teamsFull-time position, beginning upon successful hiring
