This management role will report directly to the Head of Supplier Management and facilitate the creation of a new team within the Supplier Management group. The focus of this team will be executing Third Party Risk Management policy requirements on Wells Fargo’s largest third-parties that are utilized across multiple Lines of Business. This role will be responsible for all aspects of organizational change related to the new team; including but not limited to 1) championing awareness of the new group, 2) building the team through hiring or coordinating move-the-lines transactions with HR and the LOB, 3) design and implementation of process and toolkits for the new group and Wells Fargo at large. The initial focus will be moving certain third party risk related activities from a distributed to center-led operating model. Once the team is created, lead a team of individuals responsible for assessing third party risk and performing supplier relationship management for suppliers where it is not practical or effective to perform these duties out of a single line of business.

The role will be responsible for managing a team that effectively uses resources & process to drive optimal risk and delivery related outcomes. A more deliberate, centralized third party risk approach will improve effectiveness of third party risk activities. Also facilitating relationship management duties for suppliers who are not effectively managed reduces Wells Fargo’s risk. By centralizing both our internal third party risk administrative activities, further integrating with SCM processes and utilizing our new method of external data collection, significant efficiencies can be gained while improving our risk posture.

This key management role will:

  • Responsible for leading a skilled team of operational risk professionals to align and execute the Third Party Risk Management program on larger third party relationships that span multiple lines of business.

  • Coordinate relationship management activities across lines of business to ensure TPRM program requirements are met and best practices are followed. These activities include but are not limited to onsite supplier reviews, regular performance reviews, setting performance metrics, coordinating risk acceptance and handling issue escalation, remediating corrective actions, monitoring supplier viability and ongoing program compliance, documenting business process risks and handling invoice allocations.

  • Design and implement processes, job instructions and toolkits to be utilized by both the new team and all Wells Fargo LOB’s when performing supplier relationship management activities.

  • Be accountable to the Head of Supplier Management for the execution and reporting of critical activities performed within this function and championing the vision and strategic goals to be accomplished.

  • Provides leadership by management of relationships and integration/implementation of the program with cross functional business partners to achieve strategic goals.

  • Provides change management strategies and objectives through engagement with various stakeholder groups impacted by centralization as well as changing regulatory expectations

  • Supports Strategic Sourcing with the strategy and negotiations of high visibility, complex supplier agreements to maximize value and minimize risk exposure.

  • Reviews and approves supply chain policies, processes, strategy, and/or enterprise program recommendations.

  • Collaborates with Lines of Business executives to understand and manage their third party risk portfolio

  • Approves tools and process improvements to optimize risk efficiencies and measure supplier performance.

  • Responsible for supply chain management strategy development, process disciplines, and implementation of management systems used to achieve desired results.

  • Supports governance and control programs to ensure business continuity, protect company assets, and compliance with corporate and regulatory policies.

  • Accountable for the successful, enterprise and line of business execution of supply chain management solutions.

  • Proactively maintains current understanding of various industry and supply chain management best practices, and risk benchmarks.

  • Oversees third party risk management life cycle activities and identifies new risks as business requirements evolve.

Preferred locations for this position is Charlotte, NC; Phoenix, AZ, Des Moines, IA; and Minneapolis, MN no option for telecommute.

Required Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: procurement, supply chain, finance, or accounting

  • 8+ years of management experience

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment

  • Experience working in a large enterprise environment

  • Experience driving and leading organizational change in a dynamic environment

  • Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to gain commitment to accomplish business goals

  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management

  • Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important

  • Ability to manage process improvement initiatives to optimize operational effectiveness and efficiencies

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
