Req Ref No: JNIASM12 Location: Waterloo, IA Duration: 30 months Description Description: Leads and/or supports a Strategic Sourcing team with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies, meeting Enterprise Product Delivery Process and Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process requirements/goals on product cost, schedule and quality for the enterprise/region/division/unit. In the Enterprise Product Delivery Process, plays a key role in integrating suppliers early in the process to optimize design and cost. Builds and develops a supply base for procuring complex and strategic materials, products, supplies and services. Coordinates and leads efforts to address chronic supplier performance issues. Duties: Ensures or manages the development and implementation of enterprise/divisional strategies, defining and integrating supply chains that support Enterprise Product Delivery Process(EPDP) and Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process (EOFP) and significantly impact enterprise financial and operational objectives. Develops, builds and maintains an ongoing relationship with assigned suppliers to monitor and improve supplier performance; measures the performance of the supplier and defines corrective actions; obtains assistance from other functional representatives such as quality, product engineering, etc. as appropriate. Leads and/or supports the negotiation of supply agreements with specific suppliers resulting in cost models, an implementation strategy and a documented agreement, ensuring the Company meets its overall goals for cost, quality, continuity of supply, etc. Collects cost data and prepares supplier cost/industry analyses. Utilizes and develops continuous improvement in terms of performance and lowest total cost with the supply base utilizing the Achieving Excellence process/criteria and other appropriate supply management tools. Works with engineers and suppliers on product specification, making recommendations to ensure a quality product at the lowest total cost and meeting cost targets; supports the Engineering Change Management (ECM) process so design changes and product improvements are implemented in a timely and cost effective manner. Leads target costing and cost management support for Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) cost goals, focusing on Shareholder Value Added; develops and implements communication plans to key stakeholders, internally and externally. Develops, implements and improves Supply Management processes to support the Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process and Enterprise Product Delivery Process. Provides work direction and/or coaching as necessary to less experienced supply management personnel; ensures completion of administrative support to the Human Resource processes. Specific Position Requirements This position will start remote, but eventually move onsite full time. Skills needed by candidate: Demonstrated experience with Microsoft products with a solid understanding of Excel (V-Lookups, pivot tables, chart building a plus) and Powerpoint. Experience with SAP enterprise software in a multi-factory/country environment Communication skills - Interest in collaborating with co-workers in multiple countries across multiple time zones - writing grammatically correct and persuasively language with a slant on driving engagement and action - experience with summarizing complex inputs and converting it into a concise executive summary Business savvy - experiences with negotiating and making decisions based on choices and data to optimize outcomes Basic financial analytics - ability to write formula's and calculate costs and expenses and convert them to meaningful and useful data for evaluating best alternatives As a Tactical Supply Management professional you will implement a sourcing strategy for multiple highly engineered commodities and maintain a close working relationship to the strategy owner. You will develop and issue requests for quotation to approved suppliers based on the approved sourcing strategy. In addition you will: - Implement our Strategic Sourcing Process - Implement Continuous improvement part level changes with suppliers after production launch and may occasionally support Product Delivery processes including negotiation and execution of pricing agreements and Development Agreements - Analyze supplier proposals using total acquisition cost and decision analysis methodologies, develop and implement negotiation strategies - Implement and monitor adherence to Long Term Agreements (LTA) with suppliers, including annual price changes, exchange rate adjustments and warranty reimbursement. - Execute tooling purchase order (PO), price change request, replenishment forms and complete basic legal and environmental supplier requirements - Negotiate production pricing, prototype pricing, cost reductions, non-recurring expense, warranty reimbursement, etc with engagement from the Supply Base Manager - Manage tactical relationships between client and suppliers - Schedule and manage meetings with suppliers to drive project execution to a milestone driven schedule - Facilitate frequent interactions with factory procurement teams to determine optimal delivery and packaging requirements - Support client cross-functional teams in rating of suppliers against the Achieving Excellence criteria and communication of performance ratings to the supply base and execute improvement plans to close identified gaps. - Ensure Supplier Compliance requirements are being met and implemented This position supports Direct material spend at multiple factories.
