Req Ref No: JNIAEP1502 Location: Waterloo, IA Duration: 36.5 months Description Description: Performs basic product design, testing and/or analysis work for a defined portion of a project. Operates in a team environment, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews. Develops recommendations within established guidelines; work and decisions are reviewed by supervisors before implementation. Duties: Applies existing applications to routine problems. Produces and/or evaluates possible design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering applications. This may include possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel. Analyzes assignments and determines engineering specifications which must be fulfilled for routine problems or projects. Compiles and furnishes necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel. Learns and applies company engineering policies and practices; learns company products. Executes test or analysis plan for product verification and validation. What you will do: As a Product Engineer in the Reliability team at client, you will work on a cross-functional team focused on Engine Quality, Reliability and Machine Health. You will work to develop and apply methods, tools and processes to mine warranty, sales, repair and machine data, analyze current reliability and predict future reliability. You will also be assisting with meeting facilitation & scheduling, generating reports, diagnostic tracking, updating presentations and maintaining Sharepoint sites. Responsibilities include: • Conduct complex, specialized analyses of product problem and reliability data such as Weibull and Competing Failure Mode Analysis, calculating component life and estimating repair costs • Monitor and document product problems and seek commitment from appropriate departments/units so that necessary actions can be taken • Lead, facilitate, and participate in complex, multi-functional process teams for product problem resolution • Predict future reliability based on failures and redesign credits • Create complex and/or new reports and metrics using innovative approaches Be passionate about providing Reliability Engineering support to a cross functional engineering team Be energized by working for a world-class manufacturer of agriculture and construction equipment Demonstrate capability in building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Data Analysis or equivalent • Knowledge of advanced data gathering and analysis techniques, including statistical analysis • Strong Excel skills including v-lookup and pivot tables • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) • Effective facilitation skills leading multi-disciplined local and virtual teams • Effective writing skills, including grammatical usage, persuasive copy and style • Ability to run reports, identify gaps and follow up with individuals on action items Ideal Candidate: • Advanced degree or 1-2 years’ experience working in Engineering, Data Analytics, or related discipline. Willing to consider fresh graduates from these disciplines • Experience using Weibull++, RGA, BlockSim or equivalent tools • SQL and Visualization experience (Tableau, Visual Analytics, QlikView, PowerBI or equivalent) • Experience with SAS Enterprise Guide or MDAW for processing quality and reliability data • Experience in programing; Python, R, VBA and Access • Experience with engines, heavy equipment and manufacturing VIVA is an equal opportunity employer.
