As a Manufacturing Engineer at Donaldson Company in Waterloo, you will be working with outside sources to develop tooling, fixturing and equipment to meet the needs of our Center of Excellence Operations Team. Implementing equipment and developing PLC programing will be the foundation for developing new programs in a lean manufacturing environment. You will bring value to Donaldson through:

  • Partnering with tooling & equipment suppliers to develop assembly and test capability to support our product design team.

  • Using expertise in PLC-programming, to integrate tooling & equipment automation with lean manufacturing and six sigma tools to develop cost-effective solutions to assembly and test of Filterminder products.

  • Participation in product development business practices such as Accelerated Product Development (APD) for product development to include equipment specification, procurement, and installation.

  • Conducting studies for process and product improvements, including cost reduction and quality improvement solutions

  • Monitoring and modifying equipment to ensure safety and efficiency in product assembly.

  • Managing test programs to ensure products are meeting expectations and customer requirements.

  • Managing daily line issues as it relates to equipment and production.

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Technology preferred.

  • Possess a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.

  • Ability to manage projects using lean manufacturing and six sigma tools and techniques.

  • Presentation skills and ability to communicate at all levels.

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence others.

  • Demonstrated flexibility to manage through competing projects and priorities.

  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
