Monday- Friday, 8a-5p

  • Answer the telephone, screen and route all incoming telephone calls to the appropriate staff member or take messages according to office policy and procedure.

  • Make, cancel and reschedule personnel for patient assignments within timeframe established and confirm assignment.

  • Maintain current schedule in computer of patient visits, assigned caregiver(s) and visit times.

  • Communicate with licensed and unlicensed personnel regarding patient needs and provide feedback from patients.

  • Serve as liaison with contract agencies to schedule patient assignments.

  • Update on-call personnel with caregiver assignments.

  • Performs data entry of visits for billing/tracking purposes.

  • Sioux City location: Back-up intake insurance verification, check in VO and 485’s.

  • Meets measures as determined and required for job productivity and performance improvement.

  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work.

  • Perform other duties as requested by Manager to facilitate the smooth and effective operations of the organization.

  • Exercise superior customer service skills.

  • Employee is responsible for completion of communication tasks and activities in a timely manner. This would include, but is not limited to: responding to email, voicemail or telephone messages, promptly, accurately, and professionally; attending staff meetings as scheduled or viewing videotapes of those meetings; asking questions of team members and supervisors when needing clarification about various day-to-day issues or patient needs; and reviewing employee communication pieces, to stay aware of UnityPoint at Home programs and initiatives.

  • Ability to problem solve patient and employee complaints


  • 2 years of Scheduling or Customer Service Experience.

  • High School or Vocational School graduate.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Basic knowledge of computer applications.

  • Ability to work as a collaborative team member.

  • Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies and procedures.

  • Superior customer service skills


  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.

  • Previous health care experience.

  • Associates degree in business or related field.
