Job Title: Embedded Ethernet Software Systems Engineer

Pay rate: $80 - $90 per hour (Flexible)

Duration: 05/13/2024 to 10/31/2025

W2 contract only (No C2C)

Location- Urbandale, IA, 50322 OR REMOTE

Your Responsibilities

Our team is growing and we are looking for a Senior Software Systems Engineer for our ISG Infrastructure team to provide Software Design and Development for the Embedded Software Infrastructure, Workflow and Tool Chain in our Embedded Ethernet Design Team located at Urbandale, IA. Remote candidates will be considered, but preference will be given to those near our Urbandale, IA, Waterloo, IA, or Silvis, IL locations.

  • Join our team of systems engineers and software developers to provide expertise, design leadership and software delivery for our infrastructure components and toolchain

  • Work with the Systems Engineers to develop architectures, designs, interfaces and requirements for these applications and tools. Perform requirements analysis, operational concept development, software/system design/architecture and reviews.

  • Work as part of the Software Development scrum team to design and deliver software and provide technical leadership and guidance to the team through work decomposition/planning/execution and validation.

  • May work independently and self-directed on specific projects to support key initiatives or Runway development and concept development.

  • Provide technical leadership on complex designs and issues

  • Support the overall team in interfacing with other dependent and stakeholder teams on technical scope, definition, interfaces and dependencies so that work can be defined, planned and executed.

What Skills You Need

  • Four or more years software development experience with languages such as: Embedded C/C++, Python, and Perl

  • Four or more years technical experience with design, implementation and verification of vehicle communication networks, specifically those involving Ethernet.

  • Four or more years of software development lifecycle and methods for requirements engineering, software design, hardware integration, software development and verification.

  • Four or more years' experience driving clarity from the ambiguous, openly communicating well across enterprise teams and multiple lines of business, serving as a technical coach/mentor/lead, and embodying a relentless pursuit of excellence and quality.

  • Two or more years of experience with Agile Operating Model and Scrum based development processes.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • 4+ years of experience leading engineering design efforts and collaborating successfully with diverse functional groups and engineering teams.

  • 4+ years of experience with ethernet communication protocols (DoIP, SomeIP, MQTT, IEEE1722 ACF), Network Management Protocols (DNS, VLAN, Network Shaping, etc), and Security Protocols (TLS 1.2/1.3, MACSec, etc)

  • 4+ years of Systems Engineering education, training or demonstrated capability

  • Experience with other embedded network applications (J1939 or 11-bit CAN, LIN, SENT, etc)

  • Experience using Network Analysis or Simulation Tools (Wireshark, SCAPY, CANalyzer, HyperV, etc)

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering

Education

Ideally you will have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or) Equivalent, related work experience in Engineering
