The Business Analytics Manager will lead, drive and participate in the cross-departmental collaboration to support business partners in making informed, data-driven decisions and promotes the advancement of Berkley Agribusiness' analytical culture and capabilities.
Leads a team of Decision Scientists while using strong business acumen to identify and prioritize opportunities for improving business partner decisions. Uncovers new opportunities by leveraging analytic practices to design, build new, creative, high impact analytic solutions. Serves as a primary liaison for business partner(s) with other teams/departments (IT, BTS, consultants, regions, Finance, Data Science, etc.) to develop and enhance solutions that improve decision-making processes. Produces analysis and communicates insights that are actionable by business partners. Researches, designs, implements and validates solutions to achieve targeted outcomes.
Partners with IT to access, explore and condition data. Develops and deploys solutions using data analysis, data mining, optimization tools, machine learning techniques and statistics.
Produces data visualization such as charts, infographic and dashboards to communicate findings and actionable recommendations to internal stakeholders clearly and effectively.
Promotes the advancement of advanced analytics capabilities, including business intelligence and predictive/prescriptive modeling.
Serves as a catalyst in the evolution of BARS and the regional segment’s business intelligence capabilities and champion of self-serve analytics capabilities.
Stewards for internal and external data sources, supporting data governance and the continuous improvement of data availability and data quality.
Develops and maintains relationships with other Berkley operating units to capitalize on opportunities and efficiencies.
Develops a high performing team through leadership acumen and execution. Demonstrates genuine care and delivers coaching to staff in order to further develop their skills set and performance for current and future roles. Provides frequent and specific constructive feedback on a regular basis. Contributes to the organization’s success by developing business unit and individual performance goals and measuring results. Provides recognition and acknowledgement of key achievements.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree Required
5-7 years’ of progressive experience as a business analyst, data analyst, decision scientist or other comparable analytics role.
Prior experience as project leader or project manger is preferred
Insurance Industry experience preferred
Previous experience in a leadership role highly desired

Possess strong analytical ability to dissect, manage and interpret all levels of data
Expertise in analyzing large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets using a variety of tools.
In-depth knowledge of the business practice and process

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
