SUMMARY: Coordinate pre-press production between separators, third partysuppliers, customers, and American Packaging. This includes reviewing artwork, recommending revisions to improvereproduction, instructing separators on specifications and requirements,coordinating final proof approval and assisting in establishing colorstandards.REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Graphics Manager ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Participate in training, embrace concepts ofand actively practice the STOP Safety Program fundamentals to aid AmericanPackaging Corporation's efforts to achieve a zero accident rate.Review incoming artwork for adherence toprinting and converting specifications. Ensure reproduction of all copy. Make recommendations to improve reproduction. Document and/or resolve specificationdeviations.Review proofs against original artwork to ensureprinting and converting specifications are maintained. Ensure instructions to separator werefollowed. Document and/or resolvediscrepancies. Coordinate revisions ifrequired.Coordinate proof approval process withcustomers through written and verbal communication.Ensureappropriate proofing and manufacturing materials are in house prior to pressrun.Represent American Packaging atpre-production meetings with customers and suppliers to review printingcapabilities, procedures and systems.Assemble, distribute and maintain customerapproved color standards.Distribute samples to internal and externalcustomers as required.Coordinate and overview customer pressapprovals.Provideinterface with American Packaging Corporation Customer Service Department toensure:Complianceof customer's graphics with APC capabilitiesSatisfactionof customer's scheduling requirementsAssistcustomers in the development of new packaging graphics for successful APCreproduction.Executeeffective internal (Manufacturing, Customer Service, Graphics Coordinator,Marketing Manager) and external (customers) communication.Stayabreast of all pre-press graphics technology.Coordinateinitial press runs (within APC or at outside contractor) ensuring the customer'sand APC's requirements are met, assisting the customer in color adjustments andgaining final customer approval.Completeall print orders detailing colors, sizes, style, stock (paper) for internal orexternal print suppliers.Attendand participate in all daily order acceptance meetings.Reviewand evaluate all production orders to ensure accuracy of information.Provideall necessary graphics information on a price quotation form such as printsupplier, ink coverages and print method to be submitted to the PricingDepartment for a quote.Adhere to all company safety guidelines.Attend and participate in all companymandated meetings.Any other duties assigned by GraphicsManager.Business travel required.SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES: None.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Toperform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily.
