This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
This opening positions are for fall enrollment. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Full Time, employment paying up to $19 hour while attending school and working at the plant. With one plus two you can get paid while learning a trade in Industrial maintenance. Students selected for the positions will complete an Industrial maintenance training program. The employee commits to working full-time in the maintenance department at the Storm Lake facility for a minimum period of two (2) continuous years, following completion of the program. Positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. This includes repairing and maintaining the operating conditions of the machinery and Industrial equipment used in the pork processing industry, troubleshooting problems that occur in the day- to-day operation of the facility. The position requires performing work involving hydraulics, electrical, plumbing, conveyor maintenance, 3-phase wiring, AC CD control wiring, welding and pneumatic systems. Strong Oral communication and sound decision making skills. Must be able to work with little or no supervision. Must be willing and able to perform work that involves gripping and the use of your hands and arms above the level of your shoulders. Must be willing and able to stand 10-12 hours a day on hard floors. Must be willing and able to work in all environments of our processing facility such as Harvesting, Cut Converting, Rendering and Load-out areas. Must be willing and able to work around the sight and the smell of meat products or any other product present when processing meat. Environment is wet, humid, hot and cold. Temperatures can range from less than 32, to greater than 90 degrees. Lifting requirement varies from 0-150 lbs. Ability and willingness to work varied shifts and extended hours including weekends
