West Fork Community School District Paraeducator in Sheffield, Iowa
West Fork Community School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Para-educator. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the educational needs of students and collaborating with teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Position: Para-educator
Location: West Fork CSD with PreK-5 Elementary School in Rockwell, Iowa and 6-12 Middle School/High School in Sheffield, Iowa.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to students with diverse learning needs in both individual and group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to address the academic and behavioral needs of students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Support students during transitions between activities and locations.
- Implement strategies to support students with special needs, as outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Assist with classroom management and behavior interventions.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education or related field is a plus).
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, flexibility, and a passion for working with diverse student populations.
- Knowledge of and experience with special education practices and accommodations.
