Required Qualifications

  • Holds a K-8 Instructional Strategist 1: Mild/Moderate (260)endorsement from the BOEE, or be eligible to obtain
  • Demonstrated commitment to the belief that all students can learn and deserve to be taught in a manner that meets their individual developmental, social, emotional, behavioral, physical and academic needs.
  • Thorough understanding of the learning process and specific knowledge of the unique physical, social, emotional, linguistic, and academic development of young learners and the unique needs of entitled students.
  • Comprehensive understanding of special education mandates, child development, specific disabilities, cultural and linguistic diversity, research-based methodologies and proven instructional strategies
  • Demonstrated effectiveness providing specially designed instruction based on developmentally appropriate methods and strategies and IEP goals.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness making accommodations and modifications to the general education curriculum.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in managing student behavior and social interaction skills.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in the design and implementation of lessons, differentiation of instruction, and assessment of student learning.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful experience serving in an elementary special educationclassroom

  • Successful experience serving English Language Learners (ELLs)

  • Familiarity and understanding of Marzano instructional framework

  • Successful experience implementing Positive Behavior Interventions and Support

  • Successful experience working in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)

  • Successful experience integrating technology in the classroom
