The Engineering Technician is responsible to produce, test, and operate prototype machinery. In addition, the Engineering Technician is to suggest improvements to current production models or possible new prototypes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Create prototype and/or new parts for existing machines.
Perform tests on various machines.
Follow machine through production in the following departments: Machine Shop, Welding, and Assembly. Assist Marketing, Service, and Sales as required.
Organize, inspect, and check in parts for Engineering.
Document and record, test reports and any and all changes to the machines.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma.
1-3 years previous Mechanical, Agricultural, or technician experience and/or job training; and/or combination of education and experience.
Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to operate tools including, but not limited to: plasma cutter, general machine shop tools, electric testers.
Knowledge in the areas of hydraulic and electrical systems including trouble shooting.
Ability to test products for functions and operation level limits.
Ability to assemble/operate company products.
Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers.
Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships which encourage openness with customers and peers.
Ability to produce accurate, professional and error-free documents in a timely manner.
Demonstration of good verbal and written communication skills.
