Function: Product Engineering

Title: Structural Design Engineer - 77031

Your Responsibilities

As a Structural Design Engineer for John Deere Ottumwa Works located in Ottumwa, IA, Develop design solutions for structural requirements of the Mower Conditioner and Windrower Platform products. In addition you will:

  • Engage with cross functional engineers, manufacturing, supply management and/or supplier personnel to align on design solutions

  • Analyze test plan for product verification and validation of design changes with PV&V engineers

  • Manage multiple projects and prioritize workload to meet product performance & delivery requirements

What Skills You Need

  • 1 or more years of product design experience

  • 1 or more years of experience using Creo or similar software

  • 1 or more years of experience problem solving

  • 1 or more years using engineer specification and decision release systems

  • Proficient communication while working with a team

    What Makes You Stand Out

  • Mower Conditioner or Windrower Platform design or field test experience

  • Experience with product verification and validation processes

  • Experience using Discrete Element Modeling or Finite Element Analysis

  • Experience with weld process and documentation

  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering (or equivalent)
