Function: Product Engineering

Title: Design Engineer - 57109

Your Responsibilities

As a Design Engineer for Ottumwa Works you will support product development to resolve design, quality, assembly and spec issues. In addition, you will:

  • Be responsible for executing and leading design changes from concept through to production

  • Perform necessary design calculations and lead design reviews

  • Provide design support to resolution of non-conforming parts; both supplier and manufactured

  • Manage engineering BOM, deviations, and sourcing change requests

  • Support Quality Improvement Team with design and mistake proofing solutions to low hour warranty and FPY items

What Skills You Need

  • Proficient in design of parts, components and assemblies using 3D modeling software (preferably CREO)

  • Experience managing small design projects with demonstrated experience delivering to a schedule

  • Capable of working in a cross functional team to align on goals and priorities

What Makes You Stand Out

Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:

  • Experience completing projects using AgPDM and SAP

  • Understanding of PLPDP and experience with cProjects workflow

  • Metal fabrication and welding process experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment as a Manufacturing or Quality Engineer or Test Engineer

  • Experience in design of mechanical and hydraulic design for agricultural machines

  • Hydraulic systems function and troubleshooting experience

  • GD&T experience

  • Knowledge of hydraulics system for self-propelled vehicles and cutting headers

  • Design experience or equivalent for self-propelled vehicle hydraulic systems

Education (or equivalent work experience)

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering
