Description

We are looking for a rockstar Network Engineer for our client in Osceola, IA! The primary function of the Network Engineer is ensuring the smooth and secure operation of an organization's computer networks, enabling efficient communication and collaboration among users while safeguarding sensitive data and resources from unauthorized access or cyber threats.

Responsibilities:

  • Network Setup and Maintenance: Designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, intranets, and internet connections.

  • Security Management: Ensuring the security of the network by implementing and maintaining appropriate security measures such as firewalls, VPNs, encryption, and intrusion detection systems.

  • User Support: Providing technical support to users who experience network-related issues, troubleshooting problems, and offering solutions to improve network performance.

  • Network Monitoring: Monitoring network performance, analyzing network traffic, and identifying potential issues or areas for improvement.

  • Backup and Recovery: Implementing backup and recovery procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of network data in the event of system failures or disasters.

  • Software and Hardware Installation: Installing, configuring, and maintaining network hardware (such as routers, switches, and servers) and software (such as operating systems and network applications).

  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, procedures, and policies.

  • Collaboration: Working closely with other IT professionals, such as systems administrators, security specialists, and software developers, to ensure seamless integration and operation of network services.

  • Capacity Planning: Forecasting future network needs and planning for network expansion or upgrades to accommodate growing demands.

  • Compliance: Ensuring that the organization's network infrastructure and practices comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI DSS.

  • Training: Providing training and support to end-users and other IT staff to promote awareness of network security best practices and proper network usage.

  • Vendor Management: Evaluating and selecting network equipment and service providers, negotiating contracts, and managing vendor relationships.

  • M365

  • Cisco

  • VMware - VDI

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Routers/Firewall experience nice to heave
