L.L. Pelling Company, Inc. Diesel Dump Truck Mechanic in North Liberty, Iowa
We're looking for two skilled heavy duty diesel mechanics to maintain our dump trucks and trailers from our North Liberty shop. These are full-time, year-round positions that come with a competitive benefits package and company pickup.
As part of a small team, a strong work ethic and dependability are vital. Overtime (50+ hours) is normal during our construction season. If you like variety, then you'll enjoy knowing that no two days are the same! Mechanics perform work both inside a shop and outside, directly on construction sites.
Responsibilities
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on heavy duty diesel trucks and trailers.
Troubleshoot malfunctions and determine repairs needed.
Complete maintenance and repair logs.
Additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Be at least 18 years of age.
Valid Class B commercial driver's license with insurable driving record.
Recent graduate from a Diesel Mechanic program or working experience repairing heavy diesel trucks.
Required Skills/Abilities
Must have regular dependable attendance to be physically present in the shop each day.
Must be able to drive to job sites and company locations using pickup.
Able to work independently with little to no direction and in a team environment.
Excellent communication skills.
Competent in the English language to read, write, speak, and listen.
Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
