What youll do:Aid in the design, test, and build of automated systems that are productive and safe to operate.Utilize computer-aided design and drafting to perform responsibilities.Create an integrated environment between personnel and machinery.Aid in the development of maintenance plans and procedures that ensure the automated systems remain economical and beneficial to the business.Initiate manufacturing process improvements related to new process development, robotics, automation, capacity, and efficiency.Empower our front-line workers by listening and acting on their ideas and suggestions; being the difference maker between a frustrated employee or an employee that feels appreciated and valued.Spend as much time as possible on the shop-floor building relationships, digging into quality and production issues, looking for potential safety hazards, and getting your hands dirty.Team-up with department supervisors and shop-floor employees, identifying the root-causes of problems to make sure we put measures in place that will prevent them from happening again instead of a temporary band-aid fix.Facilitate Kaizen events and team meetings to ensure there is a sense of ownership and buy-in from the process owners.Be the acting project manager working cross-functionally with all departments including safety, quality, engineering, and maintenance to ensure projects are completed on-time and are being sustained.This is primarily a 1st shift position, but some projects will require you to be willing to come in on 2nd and 3rd shifts and weekends to communicate with and train employees.What qualifications youll need:Experience working with automation preferredPLC, electrical engineering, robotics programming knowledgeMust demonstrate independent problem-solving skillsBachelors degree in Engineering/Business (or a related field) from an accredited university2-5 years experience working in a manufacturing environmentExperience and moderate proficiency in MS SuiteAbility to travel as needed to other Arcosa plants for related projects (5% or less)Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and levels of cleanlinessWhat will put you ahead:Welding Robotics ExperienceExperience working in a weld-heavy manufacturing environmentGreenbelt certification or Lean implementation experienceExperience providing training, coaching, or mentoring across multiple levels within an organizationExperience and moderate proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks or Inventor preferred)Equal Opportunity Employerminorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity
