HNI Product Design Engineer in Muscatine, Iowa

Are you ready for a challenge? Want work that matters? In this role you will perform a variety of engineering work in planning, design and execution of new products and components. You will work within cross functional product development teams to execute new ideas through the product development process including implementation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs a variety of engineering work in planning, design and execution of new products and components.

  • Apply communication skills to understand assignments and complete tasks as assigned by other engineering personnel.

  • Utilize basic project management concepts such as activity duration, scope management, concurrent activities, etc.

  • Work with other engineering or production disciplines to ensure proper implementation of new product development projects as well as cost reduction and quality improvements using project management concepts.

  • Specify the product and components through the creation of solid models and related prints/drawings, utilizing best in class engineering communication practices.

  • Communicate specifications to suppliers, procurement, manufacturing and others, to ensure understanding of expectations as defined by engineering specifications.

  • Work with project team to take new ideas through the product development process, from concept through design, costing, investment, testing, and implementation.

  • Utilizes basic engineering practices such as GD&T;, linear tolerance stacks, statistical concepts, reliability testing, problem solving techniques, and understanding finite element analysis

  • Utilizes Creo engineering or alternative solid modeling software, to define and specify components/products.

Requirements

Experience/Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Creo engineering or alternative solid-modeling software to create component/product specification.

  • Knowledge of MS Office Applications.

Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.
