Hearth & Home Technologies LLC seeks Manufacturing Engineer 2 in Mt. Pleasant, IA.Initiate, develop and implement improvements to eliminate waste and achieve overall company. objectives for quality, delivery, cost and safety. Create and maintain process Flow, Standard Operating Procedures and Line Balance documentation. Ensure BOMs, routers and prints are accurate and properly structured for production. Originate/review ECOs that effect assigned products and ensure implementation into production. Participate on-site in the manufacturing portion of the new product development process to ensure products are designed for maximum competitiveness in production including design reviews, cost estimates, safety reviews and product aesthetics. Develop and lead mid to large sized capital projects throughout the facility requiring facility VP/GM approval, and meet timelines to maximize return on investment. Review new and existing products for standardization with similar products. Meet or exceed labor content standards utilizing good assembly methodologies and ergonomics. Monitor safety compliance on assigned lines and take action when necessary. Perform basic data analysis and summarization on-site related to equipment and processes to determine course of action. Must follow all safety rules and regulations. Must follow all quality standards. Must drive continuous improvement change with a positive attitude. Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirement and equipment layout. Proactively address various quality issues that may arise and act as a technical resource for potential field issues. Work with sales and marketing to provide quality products that meets customer demands. Improve professional and analytical abilities continuously to the mutual benefit of the individual and the company. Must be able to design jigs and fixtures for use in the manufacturing process. Must lead continuous improvement activities in the department: write standard work, 3P events, ergonomic issues, value stream mapping. Other duties as assigned. Development of Bill of Materials for Hearth products (specifically service parts and accessories). Prototype building/1st pieces builds of service parts and accessories related to new products. Router development of new products and services. Participate in Rapid Continuous Improvement project events. Equipment identification for new and existing products. Line/cell set-up for new and existing products and service parts. Engineering standards implementation Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field plus 5 years of experience with Hearth Products. Occasional domestic travel to other facilities.
