Curries (an ASSA ABLOY company) is looking to add a Maintenance Technician on our 2nd shift. This position will be on-site out of our manufacturing facility based in Mason City, Iowa.

Curries is a leading manufacturer of steel doors and frames within the commercial market. Catering to such industries as hospitality, healthcare, airports, stadiums, universities and retail industries.

What would you do as our Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift?

You will help to ensure that all plant equipment is maintained and in good operating condition. Helping to minimize downtime, optimize production, and ensure that all applicable safety, loss prevention, and other guidelines are being followed.

You would also:

  • Perform required maintenance and repair on all machinery and equipment as well as building structure

  • Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment and perform planned maintenance of all mechanical aspects of plant, office, machinery and equipment

  • Runs pipe and conduit for air, water, chemicals and wires throughout the building

  • Understand and efficiently work on any of the plant primary systems which include electrical, air, water, chill water, gas, steam and wastewater systems

  • Adjust and repair clutches, brakes, lubricating systems, drive systems, foam systems, paint systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, cranes, ovens and pumps

  • Build control circuitry for equipment

  • Install, secure and level equipment

  • Perform basic electrical work

  • Use PLC technology to troubleshoot equipment problems

  • Start-up, shut down, operate and maintain plant air compressors, air conditioning, chillers, air dryers, pumps and boilers

    The Skills and Experience you need :

  • High School Diploma, GED Equivalent

  • Certificate and/or a minimum of 1 year of industrial maintenance schooling, preferred

  • 3-5 years previous industrial maintenance experience required

  • Previous experience reading schematics and drawings. Specifically, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic

  • Ability to troubleshoot PLC problems without assistance

  • Ability to understand mechanical concepts and reason out solutions to problems

  • Good communicator, both verbally and written

  • Stay abreast of current technologies / trends

  • Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs. for approximately 30% of the time

  • Possess the mobility to effectively service all equipment and the building
