Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for an Insectary Research Assistant to join our team at our seeds corporate headquarters in Johnston, IA. In this role, you will aid in the production of insects and maintenance of insect colonies for research purposes. The Insectary Research Assistants are responsible for following established methods for the production of multiple insect species, maintenance of insect colonies, supplies, equipment, and work areas. You may also be involved in assisting with experiments and research.

Responsibilities – What You Will Do:
How will you help us grow? It matters to us, and it matters to you!
Ensure that all material necessary for rearing insectcolonies is prepared properly and on time.
Perform tasks of all aspects of insect colony tasks,such as daily maintenance, diet preparation, egg collection, weekly productionsetup, insect staging, sanitation, etc.
Assist with miscellaneous tasks such as cleaning,handling, packaging and storing facility supplies/materials/equipment.
Operate and maintain complex equipment in support ofexperiments conducted within a research project.
May overseeing and/or direct the work of others.
Compile and record information, sometimes usingcomputers.
Write experimental reports, summaries and protocols.

You have a High School Diploma/GED or higher.
You understand standardization is important toefficient operations and are able to read, understand, and follow protocols.

You like being active and are willing and able to workin a variety of environments, including hot and cold conditions.
You have interest in insects and biological systems.
You enjoy working effectively with others and haveexperience working in teams.
Associates or Bachelor's in Entomology.
Insect rearing experience.
Experience working in pet shops or zoos.
Experience caring for animals and creatures.
Experience working in a lab environment.
