We are hiring a R&D Seeds Engineering Automation Team Lead. The R&D Seeds Engineering Automation Team Lead provides strategic direction and support for members of the Seeds engineering custom automation team.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Lead an Automation and Software Development Team focused on industrial and embedded control systems.

  • Project and Workload planning and execution

  • Talent development, Goal setting, and Training

  • Matching team skillset to project requirements

  • Assessing skills needs in alignment with future project vision

  • Working leader up to 50% of time could be spent on project work

  • Design of control systems and/or software development for lab / industrial automation / mobile equipment

  • Champion and foster a culture of safe working practices within the Automation team.

  • Collaborate with R&D business partners on project scopes.

Functional Alignment

This role will report to the Seeds R&D Engineering Manager

This position is located at Blair Building on the Johnston Global Business Center 80% onsite 20% flexible

Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or equivalent

  • Years of experience required: 10 + years of experience working on automation systems

  • Working knowledge of Automation systems (PLC esp. Beckhoff, HMI, Sensors, Monitors, Robots)

  • Experience with integrating solutions with Business systems like ERP, MES, databases etc…

  • Experience with Pnuematic, Hydraulic, Motion control, Vision, Safety controls

  • Working knowledge of software development practices

  • Effective communications and project management skills

  • Lifelong learner
