The overall mission of the STEM Education Coordinator is to create programs and educational resources that align with institutional goals and build the STEM and health care career pipeline for all K-12 students across the state of Iowa. The STEM Education Coordinator reports directly to the STEM and Student Engagement Specialist and is overseen by the Director of Outreach and Engagement. Message Development and Implementation* Coordinate efforts to develop STEM Education marketing and educational materials.* Support development of new and updating current K-12 STEM Education curriculum for virtual or in-person programming, including virtual summer STEM camps, virtual career resources library, quarterly STEMinars, custom virtual experiences, and activity sheets in partnership with University and community colleagues. * Develop a strategy and content for STEM social media and prepare news releases from programs to share with media outlets.* Support implementation of STEM toolkit for alumni to lead STEM programming across Iowa. * Support implementation of virtual STEM toolkits for target audiences housing resources on preparing for STEM careers or academics, career guidance, teacher lesson plans, virtual STEM experiences, and helpful stories and articles.* Aid in development of a communications plan for key STEM Education audiences to keep them connected. * Provide support in Carver College of Medicine Admissions recruitment enhancement project and student engagement initiatives. Public Relations* Identify and coordinate public relations plans and program implementation for UI Health Care's K-12 STEM Education programs.* Develop and maintain relationships with University and community businesses, organization and school partners for the planning and delivery of K-12 STEM Education programs and initiatives.* Develop and implement a strategy for increasing internal partner base for community education programs and engaging internal faculty, staff, and students in volunteerism.* Perform media interviews about community education programs as requested.* Attend community education programs on and off campus and lead interactive programming to audience or lead virtual educational experiences.* Respond to job shadow requests and connect appropriate individuals. Information Management* Manage the inbox.* Coordinate virtual, on-campus, and off-campus STEM programs based on requests from the STEM Experience Request Form, emails, phone calls, and community needs.* Collect, maintain, and pull data, and use various analytic tools including Microsoft Access, Signup Genius, Net Promoter Score, Qualtrics, and prepare summary reports to better measure performance within Outreach and Engagement initiatives. * Create and share project/area impact reports with constituents and key stakeholders, including an annual report.* Submit community benefit data for STEM Education programs annually.Financial Responsibility* Monitor STEM Education segments of project budget for STEM Education.* May analyze, monitor and report financial data, information and reports for project/area.Supervision/Leadership* Manage a team of student and/or community volunteers who help implement community education programs.* Provide functional supervision, direction, and assignments to unit volunteers.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in communications, business, public relations, jour
