Position objective:The Content Marketing Manager II (CMM) will be responsible for helping to create and execute demand generation campaigns that educate, inform, and facilitate sales and customer engagement within key target audiences for ACT, Inc. The CMM will focus on specific audience sectors in order to ensure a consistent pulse of activity to support lead generation campaigns and key market events. The CMM’s primary objective will be to create an annual “conversation” that will accelerate prospects toward buying stage by providing a foundational understanding of issues and solutions.


Typical work-related activities include:

  • Work closely with audience sector sales teams, becoming well versed in market sector cycles, anchor events and nuances of audience motivators

  • Plan and drive audience-focused, product-agnostic content that sets the stage for product-specific and other lead generation campaigns

  • Provide backup in at least one of the following functions in Enterprise Marketing (may be cross-trained):

  • Writing/Editing

  • Design

  • Project management

  • Content authoring in Web CMS or Email/Marketing Automation

  • Social media ad, post deployment

  • Work closely with the rest of Enterprise Marketing and its internal clients to support shared objectives

  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and debate in key audience sectors

  • Monitor social media channels

  • Monitor or oversee online communities hosted by ACT within a market sector

  • Be aware of all marketing events and communications via the master calendar and perform duties within this context

  • Understand and think critically about performance metrics and goals for demand generation, especially as related to lead generation and other initiatives executed and measured in Enterprise Marketing

  • Deliver and thrive in a fast-paced environment, among quickly changing priorities

  • Help with urgent or last minute priorities in a capacity other than primary role, which may include:

  • designing

  • writing

  • managing small projects

  • other duties that use marketing skills possessed by the CMM or skills learned in cross training



  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area required; preferably in marketing or business administration

  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired


  • A minimum of three years of related marketing experience including avariety of marketing disciplines

  • Experience in planning and creating marketing campaigns for digital channels including Web, email, social media, blogs

  • Documented design and/or writing skills


  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a results-driven, team-oriented environment

  • Ability to work with a strong customer focused mindset – deliver on time, communicate clearly, earn trust

  • Strong organizational, analytical, planning and prioritization skills

  • Ability to form productive relationships in a matrix environment

  • Basic understanding of marketing technology: CRM, marketing automation, Web technologies

  • Ability to think critically about marketing performance, as related to business performance
