This role has responsibility for people safety, food safety and quality, productivity, efficiency, customer service, cost, and employee engagement objectives through both individual and team contributions. Provides direction, leadership, development and support to direct reports through empowerment, teamwork, on-the-job assignments and continuous improvement projects and initiatives. Implements and promotes safety programs and safe work practices through leadership of his/her team, involvement in plant safety teams, immediate resolution of imminent safety risk, working on safety programs, and engaging in safety initiatives. Develops, promotes, and supports continuous improvement and other cross-functional initiatives.
Reviews production orders or schedules to determine product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products.
Plans production to execute the production order or schedule by establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities.
Executes production and resolves manufacturing, and maintenance problems to meet customer demand at the budgeted cost.
Leads the team and holds them accountable in inspecting machines and equipment to ensure start up, first pass quality, and schedule attainment targets are met.
Hold individuals accountable to perform to standard operational procedures by observing workers and coaching to ensure compliance with standards.
Includes team members in planning, decision-making, facilitating and process improvement.
Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Organizes or schedules other people and their tasks.
Promotes, adheres, and is responsible for Food Safety and Quality by understanding customer requirements, verifying the requirements are being met, and coaching for improvement.
Compiles, reviews, signs where needed, and stores, production data.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, reviewing action commitments, and verifying completion of commitments are met.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by leading their team in following procedures, rules, and regulations.
Understands and leads their team in executing KPIs
Ensures 100% compliance of personal and team regulatory training and required Plant training.
Communicates verbally and in writing to convey a message of leadership, resource needs, and/or daily performance.
Any other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Food Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to lead, motivate and mentor large teams of hourly associates is required.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Strong analytical/critical thinking.
Strong accountability, consistency and follow-through skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Sanitation and/or maintenance background is desired.
