Maintenance Manager

Manage the work and staff performance of the Maintenance Department in a manner which is highly responsive to the needs of all production operations and which ensures that all operating equipment and plant facilities are maintained in effective, safe operating condition allowing or optimal productivity from all manufacturing processes.

  • Assure the safe execution of all maintenance and utility activities, demands that all plant activities are conducted following all safety procedures, champions safety is the first consideration of all employees/contractors and promotes a safe work environment through own behaviors. Directs and schedules the work of the Maintenance Department in an efficient manner consistent with Company policies and guidelines.

  • Select, train, and supervise Maintenance personnel in a manner which consistently meets current and projected operating, safety, and quality needs. Makes decisions/recommendations in matters such as wages, performance appraisals and terminations.

  • Order regular maintenance supplies, parts and materials within established budget limits and provides timely recommendations and cost data on major purchases for executive approval.

  • Work closely and positively with all Managers so that work orders are pursued in a timely manner and improved procedures are introduced whenever they can enhance productivity.

  • Assure compliance with proper safety procedures including equipment guards and switch protectors, warning notices, and related OSHA and environmental regulations.

  • Assure that new and existing production equipment is installed and maintained in proper operating order. Detects and repairs equipment problems quickly and efficiently with the ability to measure the effectiveness of the repairs.

  • Schedule and record regular preventative maintenance on all operating equipment so that equipment down time is reduced and measured in an on-going method.

  • Maintain technical proficiency concerning the operation of all production equipment through regular study and training.

  • Develop on-going technical knowledge and hires appropriately trained staff to handle regular maintenance and repair of more complex N.C. and CNC equipment.

  • Maintain a well-organized library of equipment manuals and related reference materials. Maintains a well-organized and adequate inventory of maintenance supplies, parts, and materials.

  • Work closely with executive management in identifying and solving plant and equipment problems and in recommending improved operating processes and procedures.

Job Requirements

  • Servant Leader. Able to motivate highly skilled team.

  • High-Level technical knowledge and understanding of all operating production equipment

  • Excellent communication, analytical, mechanical, and organizational abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering preferred

  • Ability to supervise and develop personnel

  • 3-5 years’ experience leading a maintenance or production team

  • Experience/knowledge of working a production maintenance position in a manufacturing environment

  • Allen Bradley PLCS with discrete and analog I/O-trouble shooting required, programming preferred

  • Servo motor and variable frequency drive troubleshooting and parameter medication

  • Fanuc robots- maintenance and troubleshooting

  • Preventive Maintenance systems, procedures, and software (MP2)

  • Electrical and mechanical trouble shooting

  • Project Management
