Job SpecificationsAs the Director of Gas Operations for Iowa, you will provide strong strategic leadership in order to develop and execute an ambitious array of financial, regulatory, operational and growth strategies. As our Director of Operations, you will provide overall people development, management and direction for our Iowa Gas field operations.SALARY RANGE: $110,450 - $139,210 (Determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.)REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Vice President OperationsLOCATION: Grimes, IowaFull Relocation is offered for this position! Contents of our relocation program are subject to change and may vary based on position.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Coordinate personnel and resources to:optimize gas distribution system growth, performance, reliability, and safetymeet the needs of the strategic planprovide quality customer servicemaintain safe working conditions and practices by ensuring safety is the top priority for employeeslead/participate and enable continuous improvements and best practices for Iowa gas and BHC utilitiesattain statewide goals.Assist in preparation and define:Iowa strategic plan, including growth plan developmentthe five year forecast for distribution,operations and maintenance programs (DIMP/TIMP)annual distribution capital and operating budgetsemergency plan documentation/trainingSWP action initiativesSpeak-up action initiativesAdhoc or assigned committees, teams, or projects that function across multiple geographiesCorporate initiatives that span natural gas operations on an enterprise-wide basis.Monitor and maintain compliance with:approved goals/objectivessafety standards of performancesafety programsbargaining unit contracts/relationshipscapital and operating budgetsconstruction standardscompany policies, procedures, and current bargaining agreementexternally required regulations (NFGC, OSHA, EPA, PHIMSA, IUB, etc)project schedules/productivity.Review and approve work orders, and various permits.Mentor and provide guidance to Iowa BHE Managers/Supervisors on operational matters.Foster a culture of employee involvement in decisions.Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to all operations employees.Develop future leaders from all levels of the organization.Provide employee and supervisor feedback and coaching throughout the year; assess needs for employee training and work with appropriate Company resources to obtain it.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Serve as co-primary company representative for Iowa labor relations issues.Lead and grow Iowa SG/Tech Services business.Ability to travel on company business as required.QUALIFICATIONS:Ten or more years of relevant experience required. Increasingly progressive leadership and management in the utility field strongly preferred. Engineering and/or operation emphasis preferred.Bachelors degree in engineering, business, or related field of study preferred.PE certification desirable.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:Knowledge of gas distribution system construction, operations, maintenance standards, procedures and governmental regulations.Demonstrated experience with collective bargaining agreements and their application in the workplace.Proven leadership and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to develop, monitor and accomplish strategic goals.Demonstrated ability to self-direct workload and prioritize business needs.Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
