The Quality position will be responsible for using test equipment, measuring tools, blueprints, visual inspections, and/or quality standards, to inspect all products before release for shipping to customers. The individual will also inspect component parts as assigned or as needed by manufacturing. Incoming parts will be inspected and results documents by this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Dimensionally compare received parts, components or final assemblies against blueprints for conformance.
Work closely with Manufacturing to establish test procedures and set ups on products with a history of high warranty claims.
Measure and inspect parts before welding or machining on First Article prototype units. This includes ensuring the parts meet established quality standards and testing equipment is operable.
Perform warrant failure analyzes on returned goods and/or manufactured items from customers and dealers.
Test, tear down and trouble shoot warranty returns. Work closely with Engineering to determine if the reason for return falls under Warranty or other.
Perform other related duties as assigned, including but not limited to some Supervisory functions.
High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years of practical work experience required.
Associate’s degree preferred.
Training in Lean and 5S desired.
Knowledge of Company products a plus.
Ability to multi-task and handle a variety of tasks as directed.
General knowledge of fabrication and welding processes.
Detail-oriented and accurate.
Self-assured in decision-making abilities.
Excellent communication skills.
Able to operate hand tools and measuring instruments.
Working knowledge of basic computer software including ERP software and Microsoft Office.
Ability to lift up to 10 pounds on a regular basis.
Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Some walking required.
Regular attendance required.
