Position Purpose & Summary
The A&R Capital Costing Senior Analyst is a key member of the NA A&R Costing team. This senior accountant position is with the NA A&R Capital Project Accounting Team. This team services all NA businesses.This is a lead role focusing on change management and continuous improvement with initial focus on the CASC NA business.
Apply thorough knowledge and applicability of corporate gaap and tax policies and procedures related to fixed assets.
Implement corporate fixed asset policies for NA businesses (gaap & tax). Utilize all system and shared resources available. Ensure compliance and efficiency.
Design of detailed operating procedures at the business and system level. Document, communicate and train shared service team.
Develop and perform monitoring controls related to project accounting processes.
Lead alignment between NA Capital Project Accounting COE and CBS service centers for consistent processes. Central contact for all CASC NA fixed asset processes.
Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies related to project accounting and fixed assets.
Design, Prepare, Analyze all management and financial reporting related to capital spending and fixed assets for CASC NA Businesses.
Prtner with CASC Stakeholders (NA Engineering Leads, Accounting Leads, and Corporate functions of CBS, Law, FP&A S&P and Tax).
15% Partner with CASC NA Businesses, CBS, Tax, and Corporate FP&A to ensure capital spending and fixed assets are accurately budgeted and accounted for within CASC. Provide analysis and guidance on proper treatment of asset impairments, accelerated depreciation, budgeting, etc.
15% Allocate resources available for CASC businesses for project accounting services. Includes mentoring & training personnel, implementing systems, developing reporting tools and alignment with other functions as necessary.
15% Application of internal control framework knowledge by maintaining internal controls for contractors and project activity, including construction contract review/approval, audit to policies, scorecard development and reporting, etc. Consultation and collaboration with appropriate corporate resources to ensure proper internal control framework is adhered to.
25% Manage all month-end close processes related to capital spending and fixed assets for CASC NA. Ensure accuracy of all reconciliations, balance sheet support and financial and management reporting
30% Lead/Implement change management processes and continual improvement initiatives related to fixed assets, capital spending, system integrations and deployments. Partner with other Enterprises and finance partners (CBS, FP&A, Tax, etc). Assist with CAN structure and NA Capital process deployments.
Education, Experience, Skills
Minimum Required Qualifications
4-yr degree in general business or accounting or related field
5 years relevant work experience.
Advanced excel skills.
Ability to solve problems with critical thinking and strong decision making skills.
Strong communication both verbal and written.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to efficiently prioritize workload.
Ability to learn and work in multiple software systems with proficiency in extracting data.
Demonstrated leadership with ability to lead and influence others.
Project management experience.
Demonstrated strategic thinking, understanding the big picture.
Knowledge of tax depreciation laws.
Knowledge of sales/use taxes.
General knowledge of GAAP policies.
Knowledge of multiple software systems (ASAP, JDE, CAMs, SAP, Microsoft Excel and Access).
