RFA Engineering Mechanical Engineer - FEA in Dubuque, Iowa

RFA Engineering ( is seeking several growth oriented entry level candidates to be part of our engineering team in Dubuque, Iowa. You will work with our engineering staff to provide highly engineered, optimized analysis plans on various types of equipment using state of the art engineering software.

This is a full-time position with a full benefit package listed below, that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, direct hire by our customer, and additional opportunities within our own organization.

Mechanical Engineer - FEA

The job duties for these positions are associated with custom component design for new products on various equipment and include:

  • Use of custom software for dynamic analyses of designs

  • Use of Creo for CAD modeling

  • Use of nCode

  • Provide design team with design recommendations

  • Write clear, detailed analysis plans, final reports and other documentation

  • Work with design, test, and analytical engineers to develop ultra-efficient design models

  • Work in a team environment


  • BSME or related degree with experience required - Internships acceptable

  • Strong computational and mechanical aptitude demonstrated through work experience or hobbies

  • Excellent communication - both written and verbal

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to thrive in a team environment

    Desired Attributes

  • Experience using commercial FEA software

  • Experience using CAD software

  • Design experience or hands-on exposure to off-road mobile equipment

  • Desire to work in a technically challenging engineering environment focusing on robust designs and core data analytics
