Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

This is an exciting time to join the Wholesale Insights & Reporting team. This team provides line of business and Wholesale-wide analytics and reporting in support of strategy, business growth, operational efficiencies and risk management.

This position will be a analytic consultant who provides on-demand analytic support across the Wholesale businesses with a focus on driving, identifying and measuring strategies, effectiveness, performance and operational excellence while effectively managing risk. This role will contribute to senior level presentations and will need to be comfortable aggregating and leveraging data from multiple sources, both internal and external. A keen ability to identify and deliver succinct, relevant and impactful insights to senior leaders in the organization is imperative.

This team member will partner closely with LOB partners, Wholesale Business Solutions, and other partners as appropriate. This role will also partner with other analysts across the Enterprise to continue to drive WF consistency in analytic and reporting structures as well as explore new innovative ideas to be leveraged by the team.

The successful candidate will be a passionate self-starter, able and willing to push through data and business challenges independently, relying on leadership when appropriate. They will have a keen ability to see the big picture whilst being "in the weeds" of the data. They will have an insatiable curiosity, never satisfied with only answering the question at hand, continually adding value with the analytics and consultative support they provide. The ability to think outside the box of what is, envision what could be and both articulate and execute that vision is critical.

Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of reporting experience, analytics experience, or a combination of both; or a BS/BA degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 2+ years of reporting experience, analytics experience, or a combination of both

  • 1+ year of Tableau experience

  • 2+ years of SQL DBA experience

  • 1+ years of experience creating pivot tables and performing data analysis in Excel

  • 1+ years of data visualization experience

  • 1+ year of SAS experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Wholesale banking experience

  • Ability to research, compile, and perform complex analysis on critical operational data

  • Ability to prepare presentations, management reporting, and statistical analysis

  • Ability to turn preliminary or ambiguous information, ideas, or problems into well-defined plans and solutions

  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
