Enterprise Finance drives financial management for the company and maintains and enhances risk and financial controls. Key functions within Enterprise Finance include finance and accounting; Treasury; corporate development, mergers, and acquisitions; Data Management and Insights, the Customer Remediation Center of Excellence, Enterprise Shared Services, Business Process Management, and Corporate Strategy. Enterprise Finance informs shareholders, regulators, taxing authorities, team members, and leaders of the company’s financial performance through earnings releases, investor meetings and conferences, and meetings with regulators and credit rating agencies, following appropriate reporting guidelines. They also maintain and enhance risk and financial controls and lead many of the company’s shared services functions including corporate properties, security, and global services.

The Forecasting services part of the ALM group within Treasury is looking for a highly motivated individual with sharp analytical skills in the areas of interest rate risk (IRR) management, balance sheet dynamics, and economic analysis. Primary responsibilities will include various market value, future market value and planning runs for the investment portfolio.

The Corporate ALM Group performs quantitative analysis of the company balance sheet behavior and has a primary responsibility to measure its risk and design risk management strategies. Team members oversee the IRR simulation models of the company's major business lines, provide management with insight concerning changes that they see in the risk profile, and contribute to the generation of risk management strategies.

This position provides a unique opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of Wells Fargo's balance sheet, approach to IRR modeling, and add value to IRR management practices.

Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy, sound critical thinking, outstanding analytical skills, and solid problem-solving capabilities are required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring all QRM production results are accurate and completed on time

  • Acting as technical expert on highly complex quantitative modeling and analyses

  • Ensuring the integrity and continuity of the modeling process through change control, cross-training, back-up and recovery procedures

  • Other duties may include: performing a wide range of highly complex quantitative analysis related to the company’s market risk exposures; performing ongoing stress-testing and ad-hoc scenario analysis to quantify risk exposures; working on developing and modeling hedge recommendations to mitigate market risk exposures; defining and coordinating asset/liability management (ALM) model solutions and enhancements; assessing model performance through validation, back-testing, assumption review and recommending ongoing improvements; developing tools and templates used for risk analysis at both a corporate and business unit level; coordinating research and reconciliation efforts between corporate asset-liability management, other corporate finance areas and business unit finance groups; performing analysis to support due diligence in mergers and acquisitions; preparing regulatory reports; and providing direction and oversight to less experienced analysts.

  • The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • She/he will be able to work independently, be highly organized, able to prioritize multiple tasks, and take on new challenges.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics and reporting; or a BS/BA degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business and 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics or reporting

Desired Qualifications:

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting

  • Ability to successfully operate in a complex and matrixed environment

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics

  • A Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or comparable professional designation

  • Knowledge and understanding of asset liability or liquidity management software, especially QRM

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial analysis, forecasting and analyzing interest income and balance sheet behavior

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem solving techniques

  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment

  • Solid critical thinking skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of treasury management industry: asset liability management (ALM), liquidity management, and stress testing

  • Hyperion Essbase experience

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
