That's why we take a multi-faceted approach to connectivity.We're looking for a Solutions Engineer to help us develop end-to-end urban connectivity solutions, specifically someone who is passionate about improving connectivity in cities to multiple dwelling units (MDUs) and other residences & buildings, especially in emerging areas. In this role, you will help us work in urban environments to improve connectivity through novel uses of products, tools, & technologies, deployment best practices, and business model innovation. You will be working externally with internet service providers (ISPs), operators, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and internally with product and technology teams.
Define end-to-end solution use cases and technical requirements, working closely with ISPs and internal product & technology teams.
Architect, design, develop, and test end-to-end solutions working closely with OEMs, System Integrators, and internal cross-functional teams, leading to technology pilots and deployments.
Perform Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analyses and collaborate across teams to develop financial models by providing technical and operational inputs, analyzing network and technology coverage, and validating model outputs.
Work closely with network operators and infrastructure providers to plan and execute greenfield & brownfield deployment projects from field and market trials to scale deployments.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions are delivered and connectivity goals are realized against aggressive timelines.
7+ years of experience developing and executing wireless network infrastructure strategies, architecting end-to-end solutions, and deploying in urban environments.
Knowledge of access, last-mile, and backhaul technologies (Wi-Fi, Cellular, microwave, fiber, mmWave, satellite), architectures, industry and deployment challenges & opportunities in urban markets.
Knowledge of network and operational cost modeling and metrics for wireless network deployment activities (Wi-Fi, Cellular, microwave, fiber, mmWave), services, and equipment/materials (street furniture, wireless equipment, backhaul, and power).
Knowledge of outside plant planning considerations such as right of way, attachment rights, transport alternatives, power and conduit access.
Knowledge of indoor planning considerations such as riser access, copper/fiber/coax trade-offs, PoE switching, neutral host architectures, power, roof access.
Knowledge with network operations, operational support systems, and network engineering processes.
Experience performing architecture analyses, modeling, and techno-economic trade studies for coverage, capacity, availability, and other SLA metrics.
Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, and collaboration experience with both external partners and internal cross-functional teams.
BA/BS or higher in related technical field or equivalent degree/experience.
Experience in ISP field operations/logistics and/or hands-on field experience, especially in emerging urban markets and multi-tenant buildings.
Experience integrating open source components into ISP networks and/or participating in open source network communities.
Experience in planning and executing network technology and infrastructure deployment programs with wide-range of stakeholder partners including cities, service providers, OEMs, suppliers, etc.
Advanced degrees, including Masters in Engineering or MBA.
