TEKsystems Inventory Assistant in Des Moines, Iowa

Description:

Looking for candidates that are able to be on their feet all day long and have the energy to do so! Need to work well in a fast paced environment, be motivated, have strong attention to detail and task oriented. This is a busy role! MUST be comfortable answering phones - this team answers 50-200 calls per shift and works directly with nurses, doctors, and other clinical professionals. Need someone professional and detail oriented!

Daily Duties:

Will work off of individual cases where they are tasked with puling specific supplies from supply cases for surgeries that are taking place the next day. They will be pulling surgery materials; anything used in surgery besides medication.

Must answer phones on the floor (50-200 a day) - doctors/nurses will call down when they need additional materials. Many calls come in with urgency - must be comfortable working with nurses/doctors in trauma settings who need materials asap. Will navigate these situations as a team and must be capable of handling with urgency and helping where needed. Professionalism is a must!

Must have basic computer skills. Will be navigating their inventory system and inputting product codes and numbers. Will also be performing data entry on a daily basis - must have decent typing skills!

Each shift is tasked to pull anywhere from 40-60 cases per day (for the team). Each candidate must work at their own pace - slow and steady as accuracy is key!

Will also assist with putting unused materials away and delivering materials to specific OR rooms. Can take the elevator or stairs and will carry specific items or deliver carts to the specific rooms for surgery. Carts range from 4ft to 6ft tall - can push or pull them.

Will interact with nurses/doctors in neuro, cardio, ortho, or general surgery OR rooms - soft skills and professionalism is crucial in this role! Must be easy to get along with, professional, and pleasant. Will be working in hectic situations at times with nurses - must identify panic in the clinical teams voice and respond accordingly.

There will be over 3,000 products that this team is organizing. Main products include: IVs, syringes, and general medical equipment. This team will not be working with medical drugs at all.

Must be able to lift up to 20lbs on their own. This team will be working in the OR/SPD Departments.
