Summary:

Facebook is looking for an Integrity Communications Manager to join its Monetization Communications Team. This person will support commerce integrity communications at the company and be responsible for amplifying the benefits that technology brings to commerce, trade, and economic empowerment.

Candidates should have strong media relations and writing skills, a good understanding of the U.S. and global e-commerce and trade policy landscape, and familiarity with technology issues, our policies and the social debate around our platforms. A key part of this role will be partnering with our policy, integrity, product and customer support teams on our approach to commerce integrity, policies and enforcement and building communications plans, fielding media requests, drafting statements and responses, and providing background information to help reporters understand Facebook’s policies and processes.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the narrative around our commerce policies including how we’re building a secure commerce platform and customer support infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will be able to distill complex issues into simple narratives, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and enjoy building communication foundations for a new area of business. You should be passionate about the services we provide and the people that we serve.

Required Skills:

  1. Develop strategies and own day-to-day execution for global public relations programs related to monetization products and programs, specifically advertising product initiatives

  2. Protect and enhance the reputation of Facebook and its products in core business and advertising markets

  3. Maintain strong media relationships across all types of media outlets, develop story ideas and manage stories

  4. Interface and consult regularly with cross-functional teams across the company, including global counterparts and partners

  5. Work with external audiences to education people about our business and advertising products, including but not limited to people, analysts, influencers

  6. Lead announcements, including development and management of press materials, spokespeople and cross functional coordination

  7. Organize press briefings, media sessions, and events

  8. Prepare briefing materials and manage executive spokespeople

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or Public Policy

  2. 7+ years professional experience working in public relations/corporate communications

  3. Knowledge of the e-commerce industry and policy landscape

  4. Experience building relationships with reporters and influencers

  5. Experience working with senior executives

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience communicating to an employee population of technologists and engineers

  2. Experience in the advertising, e-commerce, payments and/or technology industries
