The Inside Sales Representative for New Ventures will be responsible for generating interest and new revenue for NBS with new market and product opportunities. This position is expected to research, validate, and ultimately sell new and existing products on NBS platforms through consultative sales and relationship building. The Inside Sales Representative – New Ventures is expected to work across all markets and products/services within Nelnet Business Solutions with a high degree of proficiency.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Take on special projects with new clients/products.

  2. Evaluate new and existing market opportunities through customer outreach.

  3. Share information gathered from current and prospect customers as to needs, issues, and ideas to improve products/services or to assist in potentially developing new products/services.

  4. Perform market segmentation, targeting and positioning of product suite.

  5. Develop a strategic market decision-making and prioritization process.

  6. Close deals and generate new revenue for NBS.

  7. Cold call and generate qualified sales leads.

  8. Create proposals for targeted prospects or existing customers.

  9. Conduct effective contract, price and service delivery negotiations.

  10. Provide expertise and advice to potential prospects and current customers regarding product and service offerings.

  11. Use Salesforce CRM to maintain records of contacts, accounts, leads, opportunities, updating, and report generation.

  12. Forecast and prepare sales plans to achieve sales goals.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent demonstrable experience.

EXPERIENCE:

  1. 1-3 years of experience creating/maintaining business relationships via telephone phone.

  2. Customer service and call center experience a plus.

  3. Proven track record of high performance and achieving goals.

  4. Experience presenting via the web and in-person to both small and large groups.

  5. Experience in education, financial industry, and/or software experience preferred

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills while displaying a high energy level and positive attitude.

  2. Ability to initiate high-level interactive business conversations with decision makers.

  3. Ability to Identify and develop strategies to overcome obstacles in the prospect’s or current customer’s decision making process.

  4. Ability to build a strong pipeline, close new business, and expand relationships with new and existing customers.

  5. Highly motivated, driven, and results oriented, with the ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing/evolving work environment.

  6. Strong computer skills including sales management/data management software, presentation software, web hosting applications and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

  7. Curious, with the ability to rapidly learn and understand new technologies.

  8. Strong follow-up skills and accuracy.
