Nehring Construction, Inc. in Des Moines, IA, seeks ten General Construction Laborers for temporary, full-time employment (07/05/21 to 11/30/21).i Duties:i Perform a variety of physical and manual labor to prepare concrete foundations, sub-base, walls, and other structures for residential or commercial sites.i Operate a variety of hand and power tools, heavy machinery or equipment.i Construct and prepare forms for concrete to be poured into place.i Maintain a clean jobsite and secure the jobsite each day to help eliminate potential hazards.i Dig trenches, set braces to support the form structures, erect, move and take down scaffolding, and remove waste materials.i Assist other skilled craftsmen, pump operators, and/or drivers, as needed.i Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.i May perform other job duties pursuant to 47-2061, Construction Laborer.35 hours/week, 0-15 OT hours/week, OT varies (OT must be pre-approved); 8 hour shifts; 5 days/week (shift days and times vary due to weather, schedule varies and includes evenings and weekends; business is open 7 days/week); 8 hour shifts occur within the hours of 7:00 am and 6:00 pm.No formal education, training or experience required.i On-the-job training will be provided.$18.67/hr; O/T $28.01/hri Job sites will vary but all will be within central Iowa i typically within a 60-mile radius of Des Moines, IA including the following counties: Boone, Story, Marshall, Dallas, Polk, Jasper, Madison, Warren, Marion.Workers will report to the main shop at 4300 NE 14th Street, Des Moines, IA 50313 to transport to projects or report directly to the project site on their own.Employer assurances pursuant to 20 CFR 655.20: iSingle work week used in computing wages due.Wages paid weekly.Work tools, supplies and equipment provided without cost to employee. Employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law and any non-legally required payroll deductions permitted under the law and requested by Employee..May be eligible for health care benefits after 400 hours.Upon 50% completion of work contract, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from place of recruitment to place of work within five days of receiving the expense receipts.
