The Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is seeking qualified applicants for an Experiential Learning Specialist. The position will provide support for the experiential education programs of the College. Primary responsibilities include maintenance of the program database, monitoring program compliance, and communicating requirements to students and external stakeholders. Accuracy and attention-to-detail are a must for this position. Pleasant and effective communication is necessary with students, faculty and staff, and external stakeholders. Schedule for this 12-month hourly position is weekdays from 8:00am to 4:30pm. A bachelor degree is preferred. Please electronically submit a cover letter with your resume/CV.
Monitor student compliance with experiential education requirements, including standard and site specific requirements. Communicate with students and sites regarding requirements. Provide sites with compliance documentation to support student onboarding.
Utilize the College’s designated education management system to maintain the experiential education database, including site, preceptor/fieldwork educator, student, and assessment information. Efficiently utilize standard data entry methods, methods to identify errors, and trouble-shooting strategies to ensure accuracy and compliance with program policies.
Monitor student progress toward meeting learning objectives and program requirements for assigned experiential education programs, including completion of evaluations and student assignments. Create and ensure timely generation of evaluations and assignments. Run routine reports and report findings to students, sites, and/or other stakeholders as directed.
Gather and document site availability for student placements. Enter and update student placements as needed. Coordinate with Director of Experiential External Affairs regarding site affiliation agreements as needed. Monitor site and preceptor/fieldwork educator compliance with submission of required information.
Perform daily administrative duties including answering and screening communications, scheduling meetings, greeting and assisting visitors in a courteous and helpful manner, etc. Assist with other experiential education activities and College initiatives/operations to and enhance the visibility of the College. Perform other duties as assigned.
High School degree required. Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred. 3 years of work experience preferred; higher education experience preferred. Required computer skills at an intermediate level with Microsoft Office and a high level of experience with database entry and maintenance. Preferred skills include excellent problem-solving skills, oral and written communication skills, initiative, independent decision making, and ability to multi-task.
