Position Overview

Kemin is seeking a talented and dedicatedApplication Engineer to develop, design, and install product application systems and provide related services to our customers. This person will develop, analyze, implement, monitor and maintain automated dosing processes to required specifications, focusing on safety, reliability and quality.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes including design, build, implementation, and start-up validation.

  • Generate best practices, routine and innovative solutions to improve quality of equipment applications.

  • Perform process simulations, design calculations, and process optimization.

  • Understand and develop P&ID’s, electrical schematics, user manuals and installation guides.

  • Repair and troubleshoot systems and/or components.

  • Interpret client requirements, identify and address design parameters and engineering problems.

  • On-site equipment installations, commissioning and training of plant personnel.

  • Foster a positive team environment and assist coworkers as required.

What we require of you:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent and/or 1-3 years of experience in areas of hydro-mechanics, electro-mechanical engineering; measurement and control technology; processing engineering.

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in an industrial environment preferred.

  • Capability to learn and understand electrical and communication systems.

  • Experience with PLC’s and automation systems.

  • Experience in feed mill process technology is preferred.

  • Experience in liquid dosing systems.

  • Experience with AutoCAD or Solidworks (design software).

  • Ability to work independently or in a structured team.

  • Strong affinity for industrial automation.

  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, including quality and accuracy.

  • Ability to:

  • Regularly stand, walk and sit

  • Sit or balance: stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

  • Lift heavier objects and work in rendering and feed mills

  • Travel 60% of the time within North America
