Sales Practices & Conduct Management

Sales Practices & Conduct Management is a front-line operation responsible for ensuring employees act ethically on behalf of Wells Fargo and are consistently doing what's right for customers and each other. The group provides enterprise-wide conduct functions, including the Ethics program, the Insider Threat Program, and enterprise investigations, to support the company in managing conduct-related issues. Sales Practices & Conduct Management is part of the Chief Operations Office.

The Role

This leader is responsible for delivering insights and the decision strategies function for an area with significant reputational risk and/or enterprise-wide impact requiring significant technical complexity in the analytics. Sets vision, values, and strategy for functional area. Provides leadership to the identification and transformation of data into actionable information that drives business outcomes. Recommends strategies and actions to be considered by top management to be relatively high risk, large portfolio products, services and process improvements to impact business results. Understands business strategies and objectives and collaborates across the enterprise to predict current and future needs. Evaluates, recommends and implements strategies for developing and utilizing technical resources to predict, improve and measure the success of fundamentals and new initiatives linked to business outcomes. Considered an industry expert. Identifies and integrates external market factors that impact or drive business outcomes. Defines measurement standards and collaborates across the enterprise to achieve consistent agreement and application of definitions, measurements and interpretation. Builds analytical capabilities and manages modeling, forecasting, reporting and/or data distribution tools and processes.

The Insider Threat Analytics Leader will use their knowledge of data and analytics to provide insights regarding the state of insider threats at Wells Fargo to senior leaders and the Board of Directors. The Insider Threat Analytics Leader has meaningful insider threat experience. She/he and is comfortable managing both people and process, as well as, working across a large, matrixed organization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and maintaining insightful reporting that clearly and succinctly identifies insider threat risks and the details behind the risks including root causes.

  • Delivers and continuously refines analytic approaches that identify insider threats (e.g. anomalous behavior).

  • Sourcing data from across disparate systems to support insider threat analytics and reporting.

  • Establishes controls, procedures, operating models as necessary to ensure a well-documented, high-quality work product.

As a Team Member Manager, you are expected to achieve success by leading yourself, your team, and the business. Specifically, you will:

  • Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.

  • Execute management responsibilities that include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in analytics, modeling, or a combination of both

  • 8+ years of management experience; or 3+ years of leadership experience in an advanced quantitative analytics function

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Hands-on insider threat experience, preferably at a large financial institution

  • Extreme attention to detail and ability to understand risks and integration/interdependency of risks

  • Experience delivering insights through reporting

  • Requires strong collaboration, coordination, influencing, and matrix management skills

  • Builds strong relationships and promotes alignment and coordinates priorities between ITP and other key organizational functions including Information Security, Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, lines of business and Conduct Management


  • Other Wells Fargo core locations will be considered
