Must have experience with Physical substation design and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Position will be responsible for some lead design efforts, with expectations of performing design duties with minimal supervision. Must be able to Physical substation design including layouts, plans, sections and details, grounding, lightning protection.Prepare calculations for studies and reports (grounding, lighting protection, AC/DC load studies, etc.)Prepare equipment specifications for procurement and/or factory acceptance testingCoordinate design activities with other departments (Civil/Structural, Networks, Transmission Line, etc.)Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced team membersRegularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnelProvide short term field support during constructionQualifications and Skills:Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, with power related courses, requiredAble to perform all electrical engineering studies and calculations, revise substation drawings related to the physical layout of electric power substations from 4kV to 500kV. Able to apply engineering standards including NEC, NESC, and IEEE.5+ years hands on experience as an Electrical Engineer in high voltage substations and electrical utilitiesProfessional Engineering Registration (PE)Must be knowledgeable in physical substation designKnowledgeable with electrical systems design and codes (NEC, NESC, IEEE, etc.) requiredCandidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills; supporting examples a plusPE license required, ability to obtain Iowa PE required within 6 mos. of hireUtility experience preferredA Great Place to Work: Become a MemberOnce you are hired at Stanley Consultants, you become a member of our member-owned company.
