Description:
Seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (PE) that will specialize in project design and documentation for the design build industry, with a focus on the food and beverage, refinery, research laboratories, agricultural, power, and other industrial markets.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
The following duties are typical for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Design and layout clear, complete, and accurate construction documents
Develop drawings and designs for engineering, shop fabrication and field installation of industrial systems.
Good team working skills
The ability to work to meet project deadlines
Good problem-solving skills and a creative approach for new ideas
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Sound knowledge of engineering principals and application
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills are required for day-to-day interaction with design build team and clients
Approximately 20% travel
Actively work with other trades throughout the industry and Baker Group to make customers projects successful
Accurate daily time and equipment reporting
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Professional Engineer license
Qualifications:
4 year Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred
A minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial design is preferred
Professional Engineering Licensure
Possesses a Mechanical Engineering license in at least one state with the desire to expand design throughout the country
Design/Build project experience preferred
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
AutoCAD and/ or Revit experience is desired
Must have good driving record
A contingency for employment will require the successfully passing of a background investigation.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Passion for Engineering/Construction
Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders
High level of concentration to mentally work through issues.
Be able to work within a construction site, which has uneven surfaces to walk on and be aware of other dangers.
ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY
Inside work is typical. Space temperature is not always at 72°F.
Occasionally Outside work is required. This includes visiting construction sites and assessing conditions in existing buildings. Dress appropriate for comfort and safety in accordance with Jobsite or Baker Group Safety rules.
