Job Summary

Driver/Trainer ensures that newly hired drivers are trained to the high standards of the Spot Division. Works to provide the best in class training and safety. Completion of training documentation, and submission to Site Manager and the Safety Department. On going mentoring of recently hired drivers. Driver/Trainer will also be responsible for regular driving duties when not training. Driver/Trainer must be able to interact with our customers with the utmost of professionalism. Reports to respective Shift Lead, Site Manager and Spot Safety for training guidance and issues.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assigned driving duties when not training

  • Ensure safety of new hire during training phase

  • Train new drivers according to set training program

  • Conveyance of all policies and SOPs’

  • Proper and detailed documentation of trainee’s progress

  • Submission of all documentation in a timely fashion

  • Strong customer service skills, able to meet customer needs

  • Continuous and on going mentoring of drivers released from training

  • Ability to understand and teach the necessary safety skills

    Qualifications and Skills

  • CDL required with 12 months verifiable experience

  • Strong commitment to safety

  • Strong backing skills

  • Operational knowledge of respective work site

  • Strong communication skills: e-mail, phone, written, and in person

  • Basic computer skills

  • Strong ability to multi-task

  • Must possess strong grammatical and writing skills

  • Ability to document in a clear and concise manner on daily training

  • Adherence to timeline for training and documentation submittal
