Corteva Agrisciencehas an exciting opportunity for a Senior Research Associate . The Senior Research Associate (SRA) will coordinate and oversee the successful transition of finished conversions from the Backcrossing Center to the Maize Product Development (MPD) group for hybrid evaluation. The SRA is expected to execute field experiments across multiple locations, collect, manage and interpret data, and collaborate with MPD partners to select and increase the final conversion source.

Develop and execute a plan for the increase and observation of finished conversions.
Create experiments utilizing Corteva systems and oversee the processing, packaging and shipping of experiments.
Coordinate the genetic purity, zygosity sampling for conversions that will be increased.
Collect phenotypic data on a daily basis and record Recurrent Inbred Parent Score(RIPSCR) from the summer observation.
Collect and summarize data from offsite increase and observation locations.
Communicate frequently with offsite increase and observation locations throughout the season and provide or gather conversion quality and pollination success information.
Interpret phenotypic, genetic and RIPSCR data from the increase and provide a summarized report to the Evaluation Zone(EZ) Leads and Breeders and collaborate with the Breeder to determine the top ear selection.
Maintain conversions throughout their lifecycle.
Support the Dallas Center staff as needed to maintain an accurate inventory of finished conversions.
Coordinate and process timely inbred transfers to Seed Production and Supply Chain(SPSC).
Support the operations and be an active member of the Dallas Center Research Center.
May hire, supervise and organize work of other employees.
Accountable for assuring all employees follow procedures and protocols including safety, germplasm security, phytosanitary, and regulatory requirements while adhering to Corteva core values.
What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?
B.S. in agriculture or science related field with 5-7 years’ industry related experience required.
Experience with nursery operations, collecting phenotypic traits and genetic sampling is preferred.
Experience or knowledge of hybrid research and advancement is a plus.
Familiar with modern corn production practices.
Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong computer skills and the aptitude to learn various programs.
Must be self-motivated, committed to accuracy, able to solve problems and meet deadlines.
