As a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer at Donaldson Company, you will lead and develop the Injection Molding capabilities at our Cresco, IA, facility. This plant started injection molding operations in 2002; by 2013, our rapidly expanding PowerCore® business led us to doubling our capability. Organic capacity growth, as well as introduction of new product families, is leading us to plan for a further 50% growth in our injection molding operations as well as the scope of our capabilities in the next few years. The incoming candidate will be the leader of a team who will achieve this transformation.

How you will bring value to Donaldson:

Purchase New Equipment

Analyze company needs for injection molding equipment and specifies machinery capable of producing components while meeting safety, cost, and quality goals.

Justify capital expenditures and gains approval of management.

Lead a multifunctional team and manages overall project from purchase to runoff of equipment.

Establish working relationships with external vendors and internal stakeholders

Process Improvement

Improve quality through the use of Design of Experiments, SPC, and Scientific Injection Molding.

Address corrective actions by determining root cause and implementing robust processes and controls.

Achieve cost and efficiency improvements through use of Lean tools and injection molding process experience.

Increase skillsets of injection mold operators through training and documentation. Technical Skills/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

5 years of Engineering experience, specifically within Injection Molding, including Scientific Molding Methodology

Proven ability to be a thought leader, guide teams and processes through initial thought through training and implementation

Project Management skillset

Design of Experiments

Corrective action/root cause analysis

Working knowledge of computer applications; AutoCAD and/or Solid Works


Safety and regulatory guidelines
