Schneider Electric Supplier Quality Project Leader in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Schneider Electric has an outstanding opportunity for a motivated individual to assume the role of Supplier Quality Project Leader of the Supplier Robostness/ Supplier Development. In this role you will work with the Schneider Suppliers Quality Management functions for the NA clusters, including interfacing with the North America and Global Supply quality teams. You will maximize the profitability of Schneider Electric and professionalism of Supply Quality organization by managing the relationships with all suppliers. With responsibility for evaluation, qualification, and performance management of the supply base.

Responsibilities will include the integration and coordination of the activities between the various teams within Schneider Electric to drive process improvement and discipline, and the following:

  • Lead the processes of Schneider Supply Quality Deployment.

  • Provide direction and support to the SQ Engineers that will support multiple Schneider facilities and the supply base

  • Lead collaboration with cross-functional groups, local SQ teams and global SQ team for portfolio

  • Implement the Schneider quality policy, define CS&Q; roles, targets and objectives within the SQ organization

  • Challenge and support the involved entities to improve customer satisfaction and achieve quality goals of the SQ organization

  • Drive the relevant quality programs and methods (8D, 6 sigma, FMEA’s etc.) to ensure continuous improvement in the supply base

  • Alert management on issues, and make decisions having an impact on customer satisfaction (PSA, CI)

  • Fill gaps in supplier base by the introduction of suppliers to provide high quality services / products. New suppliers to be introduced in line with supplier evaluation process

  • Deploy purchasing best practices according to Schneider Electric supplier management strategy: K&C; concentration, Business Reviews, supplier scoring, quality monitoring through S-OTD and S-DPM, risk analysis, SAM audit for new suppliers etc.

  • LEAD resolution of Critical Supplier issues escalated by Plants or Clusters

  • Monitor suppliers Supply Chain Performances with Supplier Leader at supplier level and animate the Supply Chain part of supplier Business Review

  • Train / coach suppliers and upstream flow supervisors on improvement tools and skills : material management, production schedule (MPS, waiting queue)

  • Defining targets of supplier service ratio, capacity flexibility and Lead time. Execution of Sub tier supply chain management

  • Conduct improvements projects with suppliers on critical business issues

  • Support New Product Introduction activities at supplier level.

  • Conduct Supplier Supply Chain Audits (SAM) upon Commodity request or upon quality action plans from plant request.

  • Identify Supplier risk opportunities and execute projects to mitigate risk in supply chain.

All candidates must be highly driven individuals capable of working independently and must have a passion to drive world class quality within the supply base.

All candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of experience working in a supply chain, quality, manufacturing environment

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified

  • Strong knowledge of Supply chain processes, manufacturing processes, and problem solving methodologies preferred

  • Purchasing functional knowledge, SSQM processes financial knowledge.

  • 3-5 yrs. engineering or equivalent experience, Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing Experience, auditing experience, knowledge of ISO and TS audits, Six Sigma Black belt or equivalent

  • Candidates considered for this role must have the demonstrated ability to act independently to determine methods and procedures on assignments. He or she will be held accountable for managerial duties including Staffing, Project Delegation, Performance Management, Work Planning, Task Delegation, and Salary Reviews for Exempt Salaried Employees.

SQME Minimum Requirements

  • Bachlors Degree in, IE, ME, EE, Supply Chain or Logistics, Business Operations

  • 5+ Years work experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Design Engineering, or supply chain

  • Lean Six Sigma GB Certified minimum,
