The KC-135 Platform Systems Engineering team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer who has experience in leveraging existing and development of new technologies to provide innovative avionics systems solutions for the KC-135 aircraft.

Systems engineering through all phases of system product development including: program pursuit and capture, requirements capture and analysis, system architecture design, requirements allocation and traceability, system / subsystem integration, system verification, system validation and life-cycle product support.
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Interfaces with business development, program management, software engineers, product-line systems engineers, hardware engineers, and customers.
Designs and manages complex engineering systems over their life cycles.
Supports architectural exploration and system roadmap development
Recommends investments or changes in technology, resources, procedures, equipment, systems, or other assets to improve the quality of the organization’s projects.
This position requires you to work in a restricted facility that requires US Citizenship or Permanent Residence (Green Card).
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
Experience with systems, software and hardware development in an avionics application.
Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, ALM, DOORS, Jama, Subversion, and PREP.
Ability to break down and execute complex tasks with minimal instructions.
Ability to travel up to 10%.
Experience taking ownership of tasks and lead efforts spanning multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Keen aptitude for technical work that spans multiple levels of detail.
Key qualifications we look for in our Systems Engineering team:
Experience with the Collins Aerospace Pro Line Fusion, CAAS, and / or Flight2 architectures.
Aircraft systems experience with the following:
Human / machine interface (HUDs, displays and controls)
Intelligence and surveillance
Voice and data communications, including datalink
Flight controls and autopilot systems
Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) development method
Knowledge and experience working with Avionics military and civil regulatory and certification requirements, including TSO, DO-160, DO-254, DO-297, DO-178B/C, MIL-HDBK-516C, and ARP4754A.
Having a pilot’s license or flight experience is an advantage
Adaptable to changes in assignments and responsibilities.
Highly self-motivated and contributing to a positive work environment.
