This position is for an expert Systems Engineering professional. Join the Mission Systems Tactical Communication Systems Department and help shape communication solutions for militaries around the world! We work to be the most trusted source of communications for military and defense applications.

As a Systems Engineering professional, you will design and develop military software-defined radio products covering all spectrum bands. You will play an integral role in developing the next generation of both networking and non-networking software defined radio waveforms for existing and new communication platforms. The candidate must have experience in systems engineering development process and have the capability to act as a Technical Project Manager to maintain and develop our next generation of communication products. Successful candidates are expected to perform the following as part of a team of systems engineers:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage Program Schedule and Cost Performance (SPI / CPI) for a large program

  • Coordinate and develop program integrated master schedule (IMS)

  • Collaborate across many engineering disciplines to execute program milestones

  • Coordinate part procurement and asset management in support of lab integration

  • Facilitate customer demonstration events and program reviews both onsite and offsite

  • Lead bid and proposal efforts

  • Present technical and program data to customers and executive leadership

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience OR In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required. Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (t ypically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) ) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

  • Experience with the systems development process, including requirements capture, design, decomposition, integration, and verification/validation, and transition to production.

Preferred  Qualifications:

  • Strong Preference for current DoD Secret Clearance

  • Familiarity with the Scaled Agile framework

  • Exceptionally strong communication skills, experience presenting technical data to program management and executive leadership

  • Expertise with radio transceiver architecture/design, basic radio functional component blocks, performance specifications and test methodologies

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
